Rhinoplasty, also called a nose job, is the surgical procedure intended to alter the look of the nose, though it may also be used to relieve breathing problems. Patients are usually able to return to work within one to two weeks, though more strenuous activity should be put off for two to three weeks. Potential risks can include the following: infection, bursting of blood vessels, the need for additional surgeries, adverse anesthesia reactions, dissatisfaction with results, airway obstruction, bleeding, excessive scarring, and poor healing.
