 | When it comes to top value and quality in cosmetic surgery, we have what it takes with Kansas City rhinoplasty. This is really just a start though. In order to provide a great resource, we can share more information about rhinoplasty revision, rhinoplasty photo, and rhinoplasty nasal cosmetic. Rhinoplasty, also known as a nose job, is the surgical procedure designed to modify the look of the nose, though it may also be used to relieve breathing problems. This can involve a reduction or increase in the size, a narrowing of the span of the nostrils, a change in the shape of the tip or bridge of the nose, or an alteration to the angle between the nose and upper lip. Rhinoplasty takes on average between one and two hours to complete, though more complicated procedures may take longer. Typically performed with either general anesthesia or local anesthesia combined with sedation, the procedure can take place in a surgical center, surgeon’s office, or hospital. Rhinoplasty can be either opened or closed: open rhinoplasty involving incisions which are made externally, or on the outside of the nose, along with any made inside of the nose, closed rhinoplasty referring to incisions which are solely confined to the inside of the nose. With the incisions made, the skin of the nose is separated from the underlying bone and cartilage. The bone and cartilage the preferred shape to can then be molded by removing, adding to, or rearranging. The skin will be pulled back and the incisions closed once the desired shape is achieved. Patients can normally return to work within one to two weeks, though more strenuous activity may need to be put off for two to three weeks. Potential risks can include the following: infection, bursting of blood vessels, the need for additional surgeries, adverse anesthesia reactions, dissatisfaction with results, airway obstruction, bleeding, excessive scarring, and poor healing.
