Rhinoplasty, also known as a nose job, is the surgical procedure which can modify the look of the nose, though it may also be used to relieve breathing problems. This can be achieved in several ways. The overall size can be reduced or increased, the span of the nostrils narrowed, the shape of the tip or bridge of the nose changed, or the angle between the nose and upper lip altered.

Rhinoplasty usually requires between one and two hours to complete, though more extensive procedures may require more time. Potential risks can include the following: infection, bursting of blood vessels, the need for additional surgeries, adverse anesthesia reactions, dissatisfaction with results, airway obstruction, bleeding, excessive scarring, and poor healing.
