Rhinoplasty, also called a nose job, is the surgical procedure which can change the look of the nose, though it may also be used to relieve breathing problems. After achieving the desired shape, the surgeon will pull back the skin and close the incisions. Patients can, on average, return to work within one to two weeks, though more strenuous activity should be held off for two to three weeks. There are possible risks and complications associated with rhinoplasty which can include the following: infection, bursting of blood vessels, the need for additional surgeries, adverse anesthesia reactions, dissatisfaction with results, airway obstruction, bleeding, excessive scarring, and poor healing.
