How long before I recover from liposuction surgery?

Like all surgery, liposuction requires a post-operative period of rest, relaxation and recovery. After liposuction, patients can typically return to work within one to two weeks. However, they may need to lay off of strenuous activity for up to four weeks after the procedure.

What can I expect during the recovery period?

When recovering from liposuction, you may be required to wear a compression garment. Compression garments are similar to girdles, and can help reduce post-surgical swelling. You may need to wear a compression garment for up to seven days following liposuction.
