Liposuction, less commonly known as lipoplasty or suction lipectomy, is the surgical procedure designed to sculpt or recontour one or more parts of the body through the removal of localized fat deposits. The technique known as Ultrasound-Assisted Liposuction (UAL) involves the liquification of fat prior to its removal using ultrasound energy.
