Incisions are typically positioned just above the hairline at the temples, running down in front of the ear, then behind the earlobe and ending at the lower scalp. With these incisions made, the skin is then separated from the fat and muscle beneath it, and fat is trimmed or suctioned out from areas of the chin and neck. The underlying muscles can also be tightened before the skin is pulled back, any any excess skin cut away, and the incisions closed.
