Incisions are typically situated just above the hairline at the temples, running down in front of the ear, then behind the earlobe and concluding at the lower scalp. Once the incisions are made, the skin is then separated from the underlying fat and muscle. Excess fat in the chin and neck areas can then be trimmed or suctioned out. The underlying muscles might require tightening before the skin is pulled back, any any excess removed, and the incisions closed.
