The procedure typically takes several hours to complete and can be carried out in a surgeon’s office, an outpatient surgery center, or in a hospital. Within ten to fourteen days, patients are typically able to return to work, though more strenuous activity may need to be held off on for two or more weeks. The potential risks or complications associated with facelift surgery can include the following: adverse anesthesia reactions, asymmetry, bleeding, change in hairline, excessive scarring, hematoma, infection, nerve injury, and poor healing.
