Abdominoplasty, known also as abdominoplasty, is a surgical procedure able to produce a flatter, more pleasing abdomen. The surgeon will begin by making an incision from hipbone to hipbone, along with another incision which frees the bellybutton from the tissue adjacent to it. The skin is then separated and lifted to reveal the vertical muscles of the abdomen which are then tightened. The skin flap is then pulled back and the extra skin removed. A new hole is then cut for the bellybutton, which is stitched into place, and the incisions are then closed.
